Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they find what they need.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
- Staying current with ads, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making suggestions.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
- Managing conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help to resolve issues.
- Providing support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
