Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they find what they need.
• Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
• Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Staying current with ads, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making suggestions.
• Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
