Key Responsibilities:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable products.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, logging temperatures regularly.
- Maintain product knowledge to answer questions and suggest products to customers.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
