Key Responsibilities:

  • Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
  • Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable products.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, logging temperatures regularly.
  • Maintain product knowledge to answer questions and suggest products to customers.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
