Key Responsibilities:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
- Stay current with ads, seasonal, and special promotions.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs.
- Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and ethically.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
