Job responsibilities include:
- Informing customers about food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Staying current with present, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Maintaining product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making suggestions.
- Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Practicing preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking assistance to resolve issues.
- Supporting interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
