• Inform customers of food specials and recommend items to ensure they get what they want.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Gain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and notify of items needing repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflicts professionally.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
