Job summary

Food 4 Less is seeking a diligent Grocery Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service, maintain a safe, clean environment, and support the department manager in achieving sales goals. You will assist customers, promote specials, and ensure product freshness and proper dating.

You will label and stock merchandise, follow food safety guidelines, and help manage temperature logs and inventory. A team-focused, high-paced environment is expected.

• Grocery Clerk informs customers of food specials and recommends grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Grocery Clerk provides customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products that they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.

• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
