Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality for freshness and reviewing "sell by" dates.
- Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Staying informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keeping logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help to resolve issues.
