Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Checking product quality for freshness and reviewing "sell by" dates.
  • Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Staying informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keeping logs.
  • Gaining product knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
  • Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help to resolve issues.
  • Supporting interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
