Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
- Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
- Creating a welcoming environment by engaging with customers about products.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflict calmly and cooperatively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
- Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
