Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
  • Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
  • Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Staying current with ads and promotions.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
  • Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
  • Creating a welcoming environment by engaging with customers about products.
  • Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflict calmly and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
