Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
• Checking product quality, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
• Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Staying current with advertisements, seasonal, and promotional offerings.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
• Creating a welcoming environment by answering product questions and making recommendations.
• Reinforcing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and practicing preventive maintenance.
• Reporting customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
