Job Responsibilities:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, ensuring freshness and reviewing 'sell by' dates.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
- Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
- Know products sold within the department to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
- Report customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
