Job summary

Rivers Co-op Markets in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Grocery Category Manager to plan and execute product selection, pricing and merchandising for grocery categories including bulk, bread and refrigerated items. You will drive promotions, events and signage while partnering with store leadership to meet sales and margin goals.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication and collaboration, with flexibility to work Monday–Friday 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm and occasional remote work up to two

Qualifications

• Purchasing experience in natural or conventional food industry including evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, reviewing products, determining price points
• Industry knowledge of natural foods and current trends
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to deliver results aligned with organizational objectives
• Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Customer service orientation with ability to receive feedback
• Decision making based on market research and competitive analysis
• Adaptability to changing circumstances with resiliency to challenges
• Analytical ability with data analysis, forecasting, pricing strategies and performance metrics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Responsibilities

• Plan selection, pricing, promotion and merchandising of Grocery products including bulk, bread and refrigerated items.
• Manage price perception and maintain quality/merchandising standards.
• Provide guidance to store leadership and staff; support events, signage, sampling and promotions.
• Analyze data, monitor database accuracy and collaborate with Purchasing Director.
