Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger in Indiana to provide exceptional customer service, bag groceries, and help keep the store safe and clean. You’ll assist customers, keep shelves orderly and support the store team.

This part-time role offers flexible scheduling and growth opportunities. Prior retail experience is welcome but not required, and you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive for at least five items in the bag while preventing damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging with various bag types.
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from the bottom of bascarts at checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return to designated areas.
• Clean spills and pick up trash inside store and in the parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks.
• Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of items in need of repair.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated.
