Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide outstanding service at the checkout and bag groceries efficiently while maintaining safety and store standards. You will assist customers, bag items, and help with loading bags into vehicles, ensuring accuracy and care across all bag types.

Responsibilities include stocking, identifying specials, and upholding cleanliness and safety regulations throughout the store to ensure a welcoming shopping experience for all

Responsibilities

• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries at checkout.
• Aim to bag at least five items per bag without damage.
• Follow bagging best practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help load bags into customers' cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of specials.
• Return merchandise to shelves and gather bascarts.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Know store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
• Create welcoming environment by answering product questions.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and honestly with customers and staff.
• Provide support through interactions with minors, customers with needs, and older adults.
• Ability to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.
