Kroger in Hillsdale, MI is hiring a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide outstanding service, bag groceries at checkout, and help in-store flow.

You will assist customers, maintain a clean, safe environment, inform about specials, and support readiness of shelves. The role requires friendliness, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Aim for at least five items per bag while avoiding damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
• Assist customers by unloading merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and in the parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Know the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair to the appropriate department or store manager.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products.
