Job summary

Metso is seeking a Process Engineer in York, PA to lead front-end process design and support for grinding and comminution solutions. The role emphasizes developing efficient, cost-effective circuits and equipment selections with the Minerals Grinding Business Line.

You will report to the Director, Process Engineering and Test Center, and work in a hybrid environment with travel of about 30% to client sites. A strong background in chemical engineering and minerals processing is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of process engineering experience in mining/mineral processing or related industries.
• Understanding of grinding, comminution, and mineral processing equipment and applications.
• Strong analytical and engineering skills, including data analysis, statistics, process modeling, and problem solving.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customer stakeholders to support capital sales opportunities for Grinding Business Line equipment.
• Support front-end process and flowsheet development to meet objectives and site constraints.
• Select and size grinding equipment (SAG/AG mills, ball mills, stirred mills, HPGRs, hydrocyclones, air classifiers).
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise laboratory test work and evaluate results for design recommendations.
• Provide commissioning and start-up support for newly installed grinding equipment at customer sites.
• Develop process models and performance tools to support equipment selection and optimization.
• Prepare performance guarantees and technical documentation for proposals and engagements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute customer solutions.
