Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Grinder Production (Machinist Intern) for the third shift. You will set up and operate a range of grinders for production, experimental, and tool work, grinding steps, tapers, shoulders, angles and threads.

Two years of production grinding experience or an equivalent technical education is required. The role involves precise speeds, feeds and wheel selection, holding tolerances with fixtures, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to set up and operate multiple grinder types.
• Proficient with selecting speeds, feeds, and wheels to meet specs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders.
• Grind steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Hold tolerances with fixtures, rests, or blocks; ensure fixtures are accurately set.

++Work Performed:++

Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work. Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types of grinders. Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours, and threads. Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels. Holds work for required tolerances. Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks. Will not be retained in this position longer than two (2) years.

All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.
