Job description

Position Description:

Performs skilled tasks to metal finish component parts, transportation tanks, and bottles during production. Responsible for inspecting surface areas and welds for defects. The work may involve working in confined spaces for up to four hours. Attention to safety and shop activities is essential to prevent injuries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inspect equipment before work to ensure safe operation and completed preventative maintenance checks.
2. Examine surfaces and welds to identify defects.
3. Work in confined spaces.
4. Set up, adjust, and operate equipment safely and efficiently to produce parts.
5. Finish weld burns on tanks' exterior and interior using electrical and pneumatic tools.
6. Buff outside heads and grind manhole covers and outlet pods with pneumatic tools.
7. Grind welds, deburr rough metal, and apply various finishes.
8. Finish seams inside bottles using pneumatic tools.
9. Follow safety policies, wear PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, glasses, hearing protection, and respirators.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include working in other departments.
