Job summary

Innomotics LLC in Norwood, OH is seeking a Grinder Operator on the 2nd shift to grind shafts and rotors to tight tolerances. You will set up the machine, dress wheels, select feeds and speeds, and monitor coolant, working with precision in a safety-focused environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances, experience with machinist tools and measuring devices, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Able to convert to Standard/Metric systems.
• Experience with Machinist hand tools, measuring devices such as micrometer and indicator.
• Read blueprints, work to close tolerances, and know speeds and feeds.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must meet all physical job requirements.

• Interpret drawings, specifications and Manufacturing Methods.
• Measure and record dimensions using measuring equipment related to processes.

• Monitor and care for coolant.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal direction from supervisor.
• Notify supervisor of quality, process and/or safety issues and concerns.

Position Overview

Grinding of shafts and complete rotors to .0001 tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and 6S activities adhering to all OSHA andInnomoticssafety and work practice policies.

• Followappropriate PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Make all setups,wheelschanges, dressing adjustments, includingselectionofwheelof proper bond, grit, face width, diameter, etc.
• Set up machine, dress wheel, selectfeedand speed and make all adjustments including taper.
• Monitor and care for coolant, etc.
• Machinists hand tools, measuring devices such asmicrometer,indicator, etc.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal direction from supervisor.
• Perform material handling, and other assigned tasks (hand truck, crane).
• Adhere to all safe work practices and plant rules of conduct.
• Adhere to all outlinedsectionand operational processes and procedures.
• Notify supervisor of quality, process and/or safety issues and concerns.
• Ability to perform job duties of Rotor Maker A classification.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to convert to Standard/Metric systems

• Demonstrate the ability to read blueprints, capable of working to close tolerances, and must have knowledge of speeds and feeds.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must meet all physical job requirements.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• 1–3 years of experience running a lathe or grinder
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

The pay range for this position is $33.76. The shift differential for working second shift is $1.00. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
