Qualifications

• Knowledge of algebra and geometry, able to interpret measurements and tolerances.
• One or more years of grinding experience (rotary, ID/OD, centerless or sphere).
• Ability to lift or carry 0–15 lbs frequently and 15–50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate grinding machines to finish parts per documented specs.
• Ensure features meet finish and dimensional tolerances per documentation.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and report equipment issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set-up and operate production on various types of grinding machines to grind a variety of parts according to standardized documentation. All part features such as: flat surfaces, outside and inside diameters, shoulders, tapers, and contours are required to meet finish and dimensional specifications established in the standardized documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of simple algebra and geometry and a practical working knowledge of some specialized field or trade. (Equivalent to four years of high school)
• One or more years’ experience in one of the following types of grinding:
• • Rotary surface grinding
  • ID / OD grinding
  • Centerless grinding
  • Sphere grinding
• Ability to continuously (50% or more of the time) lift or carry of 0-15 lbs. material. Frequent (10-50% of the time) lifting or carrying of material of 15-50 lbs.
