Job summary

ANDRITZ INC in Chesterton, IN is seeking a Roll Grinder Operator under the direction of the Plant Manager. You will perform grinding, resurfacing, and final inspection of leveler rolls to ensure blemish-free surfaces per customer specs.

The role requires operating inspection equipment, changing grinding wheels, maintaining coolant, and documenting all production activities. At least 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred; lift up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with grinding and leveler rolls is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Setup, grind, and polish leveler rolls blemish free to customer specifications.
• Inspect rolls before and after processing.
• Change grinding wheels.
• Check and adjust coolant.
• Operate various types of inspection equipment.
• Measure rolls for receiving inspection parameters, including a before Pro-mic report.
• Document all production and inspection activities on required forms.
• Maintain housekeeping of area and equipment.
• Perform ultrasound, surface finish, hardness, runout, and all other testing required and record results.
• Complete grinding report form.
• Prepare rolls for shipment per procedure.

The Role
