G&W Electric Co in Blue Island, IL seeks a Grinder to operate band saws, grinders and related equipment to remove projections from sand castings. You will use hand tools, load machines, and document production and quality data.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and 6+ months in manufacturing (foundry preferred). Safety gear is required and clear communication with supervision ensures quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret work instructions.
• Experience with grinding/saw equipment in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to operate and adapt to multiple machines and tools.

Responsabilités

• Operate band saw, abrasive saw, sand grinder, belt grinder and portable pneumatic grinding tools.
• Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels and files.
• Report production quantities and items for each work order.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by following procedures and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Train others in machine operator tasks as needed.
• Inspect finished work for defects before passing to next operation.
• Document actions in production and quality forms.
