Gage Bilt, a Michigan-based manufacturer of riveting installation tools and accessories, seeks a Grinder Hand to join our team. You will operate grinding machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tolerances while adhering to safety guidelines.

This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and steady weekday hours. Candidates should have 1–2 years of related grinding experience, the ability to interpret GD&T, and proficiency with micrometers and bore gauges.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in grinding applications preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Understand micro finishes and GD&T (concentricity, radii, squareness, run-out).

Responsibilities

• Follow all process documentation and work instructions.
• Operate grinding machines for production and modification of parts.
• Use standard measuring equipment to ensure parts meet blueprints.
• Collaborate with Quality Department to ensure compliance.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE.

Position Details:

• Type: Full-Time
• Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday

Qualifications for Grinder Hand:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Surface grinding
• Cast qualifications
• Dressing grind wheels (flat and radius)
• Standard measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) use.
• Understand micro finishes and GD & T tolerancing (concentricity, radii, squareness, roundness, and run-out, etc.)

Daily Job Requirements:

• Follow all process documentation and work instructions
• Operate various grinding machines for production and modification of existing parts
• Use standard measuring equipment to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications
• Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure compliance
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Demonstrate good dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in relevant grinding applications are preferred
