The position runs full-time, Monday through Friday, with a morning shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, in Auburn, WA.

Qualifications

• Experience grinding, sanding, trimming, and finishing fiberglass components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Applies gelcoat by brush to underside of parts per specifications.
• Cuts excess fiberglass from part edge.
• Examines laminated parts for defects and checks measurements.
• Mixes polyester putty and hardener and applies to bonding area.
• Removes burrs and rough surfaces from fiberglass parts with hand tools.

Known for innovative design, superior craftsmanship, and customer-focused solutions, Fluid Motion builds high-quality vessels that provide exceptional comfort, performance, and reliability for boaters exploring both inland and coastal waters.

The Grinder is responsible for preparing, shaping, and finishing fiberglass boat components by grinding, sanding, trimming, and smoothing surfaces to meet production and quality standards. This position uses hand and power tools to remove excess material, correct imperfections, and prepare parts for repair, assembly, painting, or final finishing.

Full-time

Monday to Friday 5:00 AM-1:30 PM

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies gelcoat by brush to underside of parts per specifications.
• Cuts excess fiberglass from part edge.
• Examines laminated parts for defects.
• Examines material is cut to measurements.
• Mixes polyester putty and hardener according to specifications and applies mixture to bonding area.
• Removes burrs and rough surfaces from fiberglass parts with hand file or portable pneumatic grinder.
• Must have the ability to demold parts and trim to specifications

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular and consistent basis.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, climb, balance and reach for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the entire duration of shift.
• Ability to keep up with fast pace environments.
• Ability to use hands for the duration of the shift.
