Moog in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist II to work on second and third shift onsite within our Military Aircraft Group. You will fabricate high-precision components used in F-35, MQ-25 and FLRAA programs, reading blueprints and work instructions to hold tight tolerances.

The role requires at least 3 years of grinding experience, the ability to set up machines, interpret GD&T and use micrometers, calipers and dial bore gauges.

Qualifications

• Must perform measurements with tight tolerances and GD&T.

Job Title: Grind Machinist II - 2nd/3rd Shift Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY

As a machinist within our Military Aircraft Group, you will machine some of the most challenging parts which will be used on major production programs such as F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.

Currently, we are seeking a skilled Grind Machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs.

In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high-precision components used in flight-critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non-negotiable.

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus.

To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.

Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Grind Machinist.
• Proficiency using various measuring equipment, including but not limited to, Micrometers, Calipers, and Dial Bore Gauges.
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.
• Ability to select grinding wheels, properly dress the wheel and run production parts according to drawing requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, associated with the machining of precision parts (GD&T).

In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Agency (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company’s "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.

As a Grind Machinist II, you will:

• Work from blueprints, operation sheets and/or verbal instructions.
• Grind a wide variety of complex parts having either intricate recessing, interim grooving, numerous steps, tapers, unusual contours, to extremely close tolerances and/or a high degree of finish on two or more of the following type grinders: cylindrical, internal, or surface.
• Perform your own set‑ups, including chucking and aligning of parts having irregular shapes, selecting proper wheels, speeds, feeds, and operating sequence.
• Dress wheels for form, taper, steps, straight and unusual forms.
• Perform inspection of all work performed using air gages, diatest, V-blocks, profilometers angle plates, and electronic gauging equipment.
• Detecting unusual conditions, defective materials, and deviate parts; and recognizing errors in operation sheets.
• Participate in the planning of work within the Cell and help solve problems occurring within the Cell.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $28.00–$32.00 Hourly Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location.
