Job summary

Moog is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist I for the 2nd shift in Buffalo, NY. You will manufacture high-precision components used in flight-critical systems, reading blueprints and process instructions to grind complex parts in a high-mix, low-volume setting.

You will set up CNC grinders, troubleshoot issues, and perform inspections with micrometers and dial bore gauges. A high school diploma or CNC program completion is required, with sign-on bonus potential.

  • At least 1 year of machinist experience OR graduation from a formal manufacturing or CNC program.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machine processes.

Job Title : Grind Machinist I - 2nd Shift

Reporting To: Leader, Performance

Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY

As a machinist within our Military Aircraft Group, you will machine some of the most challenging parts which will be used on major production programs such as F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.

Currently, we are seeking a skilled Grind Machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs. In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high-precision components used in flight-critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non-negotiable.

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus. To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • A high School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience as a machinist OR
  • Graduation from a formal manufacturing, machining, or CNC certification/training program
  • Demonstrated experience setting-up and troubleshooting process issues with CNC Machines
  • Proficiency using various measuring equipment, including but not limited to, Micrometers and Dial Bore Gauges
  • Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.

In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.

As a Grind Machinist, you will:
  • Work from blueprints, process instructions and/or verbal instructions.
  • Following a training period, be expected to set up and grind complex parts in a high mix, low volume production setting.
  • Perform inspection of all work performed using a variety of gauges.
  • Actively collaborate with other team members to problem solve within their work area.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $22.00-$27.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
