Job summary

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering in Warsaw, IN is seeking a Grind Machinist to set up and operate grinding equipment and produce parts per blueprints and work instructions on the 1st shift.

You will read blueprints, use calipers and micrometers for quality checks, perform setups, document production data, and work with defined procedures while complying with policies. The role requires standing, lifting, overtime, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and use calipers, micrometers, height gauge and depth micrometers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Understanding of G & M Codes.
• Strong understanding of computers.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand and lift 40 lbs and work eight hours plus per day.
• Willingness to work overtime daily/weekly.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why.
• Fulfills FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

The Grind Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of grinding machines to produce parts in accordance with blueprint specifications and work instructions.This position will be based at our location in Warsaw, IN and assigned to a 1st shift schedule.**What You’ll Do:**Operates grinding equipment and runs production in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.Performs setup for parts according to blueprints and guidelines.Uses inspection gauges such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and comparator to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions.Corrects dimensional problems and approves setups by other operators.Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts; completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company database.Comply with all policies and procedures.All other duties as assigned.**What You’ll Need:******Ability to read and use calipers, micrometers, height gauge, depth micrometers.Read and interpret blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations to be performed.Understanding of G & M CodesStrong understanding of computers.Good interpersonal skills.Ability to work with little direct supervision.Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.Ability to stand and walk eight hours plus per day.Ability to work overtime (daily/weekly)Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalentYou should be proficient in:5 Why (Root Cause Analysis Method)FDA Regulations
