Job summary

The Grille Kitchen Helper position at Middlebury College Dining Service supports prep work, sauces, and Grab n’ Go items for Retail Dining locations. It also assists in setting up and breaking down prep areas before, during, and after meal periods.

This is a Middlebury Student part-time, temporary position paying $15.88 / hour. It requires current enrollment at Middlebury College, SERVSafe training within 14 days of hiring, and reliable, team-oriented work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student at Middlebury College.
• Completion of SERVSafe training within 14 days of hiring.
• Experience in food service is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation such as slicing vegetables, making sauces, marinating meats, baking, and portioning ingredients according to recipes.
• Follow daily bulk prep list for Community Table/Grille meal services and Grab n’ Go orders.
• Ensure all food items meet quality standards for taste, presentation, and freshness.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work areas, including washing dishes and taking out trash.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices to protect health of customers.
• Work with teammates to ensure smooth operation during service and a positive work environment.
• Follow Middlebury College Dining Service policies and guidelines.
