Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at University of Missouri-Rolla is hiring for full-time and part-time Grill Cook positions. Location: 202 West 18th Street, Rolla, MO 65409. Online applications accepted only.

You will prepare food at the grill station, follow safety standards, and ensure high-quality service. Prior grill cook, line cook, or prep cook experience is required; shifts vary and pay is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior line cook, prep cook, and grill cook experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation; completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations.
• Serves customers efficiently and courteously, ensures food is at the correct temperature and visually appealing.
• Maintains ticket-collection procedures and records from the area worked during service.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, proper serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Transfers pans, kettles, and trays safely between workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
• Stores foods in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Maintains sanitation of all work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Resolves customer concerns and communicates them to a supervisor.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings and maintains good working relationships with coworkers and managers.
• Performs duties safely and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
