Job description

**Job Summary**
Grill Cooks prepare food items such as meats, vegetables, and cheese using a grill. Responsibilities include taking orders from waiters, regulating grill temperature, portioning food, labeling items, maintaining a clean cooking area, discarding wastes and expired food, and managing inventories. Essential qualifications include basic cooking skills, knowledge of safety regulations, customer service orientation, time management, and the ability to stand for long hours.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**

  • Take food orders from waiters and prepare grilled items accordingly.
  • Label and season food items appropriately.
  • Manage inventory of food supplies and ensure proper storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area and equipment.
  • Check and regulate equipment temperatures to ensure proper cooking.
  • Ensure food quality and presentation before serving.
  • Receive and inspect raw food items from suppliers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grilling equipment.
  • Thaw and prepare ingredients prior to cooking.
  • Follow recipes and customer specifications for grilling.

**Required Skills/Abilities**

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene.

**Education and Experience**
High school diploma or vocational training in kitchen basics preferred. One year of related experience is preferred.

**Physical Requirements**
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
