Job Description for Kitchen Staff
Join our team as a Kitchen Staff member and be part of a dynamic culinary environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up stations and collecting supplies to prepare the menu for service.
- Preparing a variety of foods, including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items.
- Arranging sauces and garnishes for your assigned station.
- Storing all food items properly with correct dating and covering.
- Notifying the Chef in advance of shortages.
- Serving menu items according to established standards.
- Using food preparation tools safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
- Closing the kitchen properly by following the closing checklist.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
- Ensuring storage areas are tidy and products are stored appropriately.
- Practicing safe and hygienic food handling at all times.
- Returning dirty utensils to designated areas.
- Assisting with additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of sanitation, safety regulations, and food handling techniques.
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and under pressure.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Maintaining personal cleanliness.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or vocational training in kitchen basics preferred.
- Previous related experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and working in a hot, cold, or steam-filled environment.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Willingness to work late nights and irregular hours.
- Manual dexterity for food preparation tasks.
