Job summary

Original Pancake House - Northwest in Dallas, TX is seeking a Grill Chef for the first shift. This role is directly responsible for all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, and maintaining quality standards, sanitation, and cleanliness.

You will train staff in cooking methods, plating, portion control, and cost management. Responsibilities include accurately preparing menu items, portioning before cooking, and ensuring plates meet OPH standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness.
• Accurately and efficiently prepare menu items as well as prepare menu items and portion food products prior to cooking.
• Plate cooked items according to OPH standards and assist with final plate preparation.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Follows closing checklist for kitchen stations and assists others in closing the kitchen.
• Attends scheduled employee meetings and participates in improvement suggestions.
