Job summary

PG&E is seeking a results-driven professional to support cross-departmental innovation on the electric transmission grid. The role blends planning with real-time operations, offering a unique rotation between Transmission Planning and Grid innovation to apply insights to transmission challenges.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electric power systems, hands-on programming with Python, and experience with grid-modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with grid modeling software such as CYMDIST, PSLF, TARA, Aspen, or similar tools.
• 7 years of electric utility related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovation for transmission grid transformation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, utilities, and vendors to evaluate new solutions.
• Benchmark industry best-practices for large-load interconnections, especially data centers.
• Translate technical findings into executive summaries for decision-making.
• Develop business plans that articulate the expected benefits and costs of innovative solutions, with a close eye on rate and systems impacts.
• Translate complex discussions into tactical checklists of clear next steps.
