Job summary

EPRI seeks a Technical Executive to lead integrated grid engineering, simulation, and advisory services from the California Home Office. You will direct power-system simulation, DER integration, and grid modernization efforts, shaping technical strategy and client solutions for utilities, regulators, and technology providers.

You will drive research programs, establish standards, and lead cross‑functional teams while engaging senior stakeholders and executives across the industry.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 20+ years of experience in power systems engineering, research, or related areas.
• Proven technical leadership and ability to influence technical strategy.
• U.S.-based position with ~10–25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-level leadership in power-system simulation, grid engineering, DER integration, and advanced energy-system applications.
• Define technical direction, research priorities, and long-term strategies across EPRI sectors.
• Represent EPRI externally in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and collaborations.
• Lead development of innovative research programs and advisory services.
• Guide capacity-building in digital engineering, grid modernization, and integrated energy systems.
• Mentor senior technical staff and collaborate across business units.
