Job summary

EPRI in California seeks a Technical Executive to lead Integrated Grid Engineering, Simulation and Advisory Services. This executive provides enterprise-level leadership in power-system simulation, grid modernization, DER integration, and advanced energy-system applications, shaping technical vision and advisory services.

Ideal candidates possess a 20+ year track record in power systems, strong leadership, and a history of influencing technical strategy and cross-disciplinary initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Typically 20+ years of experience in power systems engineering, research or technology development.
• Demonstrated leadership, influence over technical strategy, and program development.
• Experience with utility transmission/distribution networks, DER technologies, and grid modernization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership for grid modernization, DER integration, and power-system simulations.
• Define research priorities, methodologies, and long-term technical roadmaps.
• Represent EPRI externally through industry forums, regulatory discussions, and partnerships.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor senior technical staff across programs.
• Develop and grow new technical capabilities, advisory services, and market-facing solutions.
• Collaborate across sectors to deliver integrated, value-driven energy-system solutions.
