Job summary

California ISO is seeking an experienced Reliability and Market Operations Engineer in California. The role supports Reliability Coordination, Real-Time Grid Operations, and Market Operations with 24x7 rotating shifts.

You will establish operating limits, document procedures, and model market impacts of transmission constraints. The position requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Power concentration preferred) and 2+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, Power concentration preferred.
• Two or more years related experience in power systems engineering.
• NERC Certification required or obtainable within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-shift engineering support in a 24x7 control room environment.
• Develop operating requirements and procedures to meet reliability standards.
• Model transmission constraints for efficient market and grid operations.
• Assist in policy development and operation of the ISO market and grid.
• Represent ISO interests in WECC or industry meetings as assigned.
• Develop and document automated tools for monitoring transmission performance.
