Alliant Energy is seeking engineers at the Grid Planning level to design and optimize the electrical grid. Roles range from Engineer I to Engineer III, aligned with experience, with progression across safety, customer focus, communication, and technical modeling responsibilities.

We value foundational knowledge and the ability to advance through development stages, applying engineering standards and delivering impact across planning and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an ABET-accredited Engineering program required.
• Engineer I: 0+ years of related experience (entry level).
• Engineer II: 2+ years of related experience.
• Engineer III: 5+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Foundational safety and regulatory compliance knowledge is required.
• Identify and mitigate unsafe conditions and address system issues.
• Lead safety and compliance efforts and influence standards.
• Support customer-focused problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and facilitate discussions across teams.
• Lead planning, budgeting and investment decisions for projects.
• Perform system analysis, modeling and technical studies as assigned.
