Job summary

American Transmission Company (ATC) is seeking an Initial Training Program Manager to shape the future of System Operations training by leading execution and continuous improvement of the Initial Training Program. This role suits an experienced operator, trainer, or operations leader who can convert expertise into practical learning experiences.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in utility operations or training, and applies adult-learning principles across classroom, simulator, and on-the-job

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of relevant utility operations, training, or technical instruction experience.
• Experience applying adult learning principles in classroom, simulator, and on-the-job training programs preferred.
• NERC System Operator Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute ATC’s Initial Training Program structure, schedule, curriculum, and qualification pathway.
• Coordinate classroom training, simulator-based training activities, and on-the-job training progression.
• Deliver technical instruction and provide coaching and feedback.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for on-the-job training and mentoring programs.
• Support regulatory compliance requirements, including NERC standards, the Systematic Approach to Training, and PER-005.
