Job summary

Progressive / SThree Group seeks a Grid Integration & Power Systems Studies Engineer to lead interconnection activities for utility-scale renewable projects across North America, with a focus on wind dynamics and EMT studies.

You will model and review power system studies (PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, DIgSILENT), validate dynamic models, ensure NERC compliance, and collaborate with ISOs, utilities, consultants, and global teams from development through commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
  • 5+ years in renewable energy development, power systems engineering, transmission planning, or grid interconnection.
  • Hands-on experience with power system simulation and dynamic studies.
  • Experience supporting renewable generation interconnection projects.
  • Strong understanding of transmission networks, reliability standards, and grid compliance.
  • Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical efforts from interconnection application through commissioning.
  • Coordinate with ISOs, utilities, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Perform and review power system studies using PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, DIgSILENT.
  • Dynamic model validation, tuning, and performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC standards and regional grid codes.
  • Support commissioning activities and model verification.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams.
