Job summary

Vistra is seeking an Engineer – Grid Integration and Interconnection in Irving, TX. The role focuses on preparing interconnection applications for large load and generator projects, and supporting power flow, stability, and transmission studies across ISOs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years in transmission/interconnection in ISO regions such as CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, NYISO, PJM, SPP or ISO-NE.
• Experience with injection, deliverability and ATC studies.
• Proficiency with PowerGEM TARA, PSS/E, PSLF, DSATools and ASPEN/CAPE.
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage interconnection applications for large load and generator interconnections.
• Support steady state, dynamic stability, SSO, short circuit studies and PSCAD models.
• Analyze POI locations, switching schemes, and protection coordination.
• Develop study models and perform transmission studies to identify constraints and upgrade costs.
• Assist in regulatory policy input and GIA negotiations; review ISO plan documents.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/Utilities interconnection requirements and NERC standards.
