Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital seeks an experienced EMS program administrator to coordinate day-to-day EMS operations and education for the hospital-based EMS team.

The role oversees CME scheduling, EMS continuing education, and QA/QI activities, serving as liaison to EMT and paramedic rotations, EMS Medical Director, and local public safety partners. Paramedic certification and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Paramedic certification and license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field preferred.
  • EMS leadership experience (3+ years) and QA/QI experience.
  • National Registry Paramedic and CT Paramedic License required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day administration of the EMS program.
  • Oversee EMS Continuing Education programs.
  • Schedule CME programs annually (6 programs).
  • Liaise for EMT and paramedic clinical rotation programs.
  • Oversee hospital QI-EMS program and review PCRs.
  • Collaborate with EMS Medical Director on non-compliance issues.
  • Support continuing education programs and ACS verifications.
  • Assist with trauma program and new EMS program development.

Responsibilities
EDUCATION
Paramedic Program certification and license. Bachelor's Degree in related health sciences field or equivalent preferred.
Experience
5 Years EMS Experience as a Paramedic, 3 years of EMS leadership experience, 3 years QA/QI experience. Critical Care paramedic experience preferred
LICENSURE
National Registry Paramedic, CT Paramedic License, AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS Instructor certifications, CT Emergency Medical Services Instructor required. Hazardous Material Training, Critical Care Paramedic preferred.

Position Overview
Coordinates the day-to-day administration of the EMS program. Essential duties and responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the oversight of the EMS Continuing Education programs.
Schedules CME (6 programs) annually.
Serves as the liaison for the EMT clinical rotation program .
Serves as the liaison for the paramedic clinical rotation program.
Oversees the hospital QI-EMS program.
Conducts reviews of prehospital patient care reports (PCR).
Works with EMS Medical director and BH EMS physician on issues of clinical non-compliance.
Schedules peer review QI sessions with paramedics.Serves as liaison to local EMS, fire and police agencies.
Assists the trauma program.
Assists with quality improvement activities.
Provides supports to continuing education programs.
Performs ACS verifications.
Assists with quality improvement activities.
Assists with new program development.
