Job summary

Greenville Utilities is seeking an Electric Engineering Intern (Distribution) to assist in engineering duties related to the electric transmission and distribution system construction and operations under general supervision.

You'll support project oversight, participate in engineering reviews and help with bid documents, with enrollment in a 4-year BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, up to one year of experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year of engineering-related experience.
• Enrolled in a 4-year BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assists with engineering and construction design duties related to the electric transmission and distribution system
• Prepares specifications and bid documents.
• Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of bid awards
• Assists the Electric Engineer I/II with Project Management duties on projects as assigned by Electric Distribution Engineer
• Assists with engineering review of consultant submittals; Interacts with contractors on material pickup and other project inquiries
• Performs other duties and assignments as required

Brief Description

Under general direction and supervision of the Electric Engineer I/II, assists in engineering duties associated with the electric transmission and distribution system construction and operations; assists with project oversight and technical support to crews regarding the construction, operation and maintenance of the electric transmission and distribution systems; assists with special projects as required.
