Job summary

Ventana Canyon Club & Lodge in Tucson, AZ is seeking a full-time landscape team member. You will perform general grounds maintenance, operate light machinery, and support golf course setup while working a day shift.

Must read and follow simple instructions, have basic math skills, and pass a background check. Valid driver's license and English fluency are required; bilingual a plus. Competitive benefits and overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to apply simple math: add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10s and 100s.
• Must pass a background check.
• One month related experience or training, or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be fluent in English; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general landscape maintenance using hand-held equipment.
• Rake and maintain sand bunkers.
• Operate small machinery for edging, trimming, and mowing.
• Assist with course detail tasks (weed and debris cleanup).
• Operate walking equipment to mow greens collars and tees.
• Assist with golf course setup procedures.
• Assist with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas.
• Operate utility vehicles for hauling material and debris.
• Operate riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.
• Operate sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects.
• Operate dump trucks and tractors for hauling purposes.
• Follow safe work practices and be aware of surrounding staff.
• Perform skills related to pruning, plugging, etc.
• Be flexible to take on new tasks as directed; attend staff meetings.

The Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club is a beautiful and secluded member-owned country club with 36 holes of championship golf and 50 guest suites, rated as one of America's top golf resorts Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical part. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences vibration. Noise level is loud.

Qualifications

• QUALIFICATIONSRequired to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Able to apply common sense understanding of carry out detailed but involved instructions furnished in written and oral, or diagram form.
• Must be able to pass background check.
• One-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be fluent in English; bilingual preferred.
• Must possess good verbal, written and listening skills.

Physical Demands

Meet the physical demands of the position: Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands to finger feels or handle, reaches with hands and arms. Work Environment

Pay starting at $15.50. $500 sign on bonus Receive first half ($250) after 90 days of employment and the other half ($250) after 6 months of employment. Possible days off are Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday. Start and end times are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Overtime is available, free lunch daily.
