Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Golf Club is seeking a Greenskeeper I to maintain the golf courses. Omni Frisco PGA Resort provides North Texas with 127,000 square feet of event space, 13 new food and beverage outlets, an extravagant spa, and a full entertainment district. Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, we aim to provide incredible options for dining, events, and entertainment for our guests and local community.

The Greenskeeper I is responsible for maintaining the golf courses, including the turf and surrounding grounds, as directed by the Golf Course Superintendents.

Responsibilities

1. Operate hand mowers on greens, aprons, tees, fairways, rough, lake banks, around tees, and grounds.
2. Exercise extreme care to avoid injuring turf and shrubs; practice safety while operating equipment and report issues immediately.
3. Edge cart paths, flymo bunker faces, string trim lake banks and around tees, edges, and rakes sand bunkers. Complete jobs and clean up work areas as required.
4. Excavate and backfill trenches with hand tools, operate utility vehicles as needed.
5. Ensure safety by wearing necessary equipment (glasses, ear plugs, hard hats) and maintain tools and equipment properly.
6. Clean machines after use, make minor adjustments under supervision.
7. Maintain fuel and fluid levels daily, inspect equipment, report problems promptly.
8. Stay on cart paths where available, minimize impact on high traffic areas.
9. Assist in project work as directed.
10. Pick up trash and debris during duties.
11. Be courteous and conscientious of golfers and homeowners.
12. Practice safety, minimize disruption to members and guests, return equipment properly, keep maintenance areas clean.
13. Mow turf using tractors, ride-on machines, and hand mowers.
14. Apply detail work including edging and raking sand bunkers.
15. Use environmentally friendly turf treatments as instructed.
16. Renovate and maintain bunkers and hazards like water features.
17. Apply irrigation and address drainage issues.
18. Maintain and fuel golf course maintenance equipment, report abnormalities, clean and store equipment.
19. Maintain trees, bushes, shrubs, and native plants.
20. Perform excavations, backfilling, and operate utility vehicles as required.
21. Perform trash pickup and blow cart paths with backpack blowers.
22. Perform all duties safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license with good driving record.
• Previous grounds work experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
• Ability to use hand tools, trimming tools, power tools, and mowing equipment.
• Ability to work long hours, flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Present a positive, professional image, be self-motivated, reliable, and punctual.
• Basic knowledge of golf rules and conditions.
• Ability to work as part of a team to achieve goals.
