Job summary

Max A Mandel Golf Course in Laredo, TX, part of Troon, seeks a Greenskeeper to maintain and enhance the golf course and surrounding landscaping. You will work in a fast-paced hospitality-focused environment and contribute to a globally recognized course management organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication, organization, and a willingness to learn, with responsibility for mowing, irrigation, soil preparation, seeding and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• Must be able to design, coordinate and maintain landscaping on the golf course.
• Must be able to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course maintenance.
• Experience with seeding, fertilizing, mulching and ground prep for restoration/renovation.
• Must be dependable.

Responsibilities

• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas.
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads as needed in dry areas.
• Repairs irrigation system, pipes and heads as necessary.
• Grades and prepares soil, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways.
• Trims and prunes hedges; cleans flower beds.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
