Job summary

Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club, located near the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto, seeks a Greenskeeper to perform routine golf course maintenance under supervision. This temporary full-time position involves operating small equipment, mowing, edging, watering, and assisting with irrigation and course setup.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and compliance with U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds and landscape area construction/maintenance methods and materials.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Physical strength, stamina and agility.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Occasional overtime with minimal notice.
• Must provide valid documents to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Operates mowers and string trimmers to trim greens, aprons, tees, edges, and bunkers.
• Sets tee markers and cups; maintains gear; cleans facilities and bed areas.
• Maintains fuel and fluids; reports equipment issues promptly.
• Returns equipment to designated areas and cleans maintenance spaces.
• Water and fertilize greens and fairways; under supervision, applies chemicals.
• Mark course for cart control; manage barriers and signage.
• Assist in project work: build greens, tees, and fairways; lay sod and seed areas.
• Repair irrigation pipes and operate light equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
