Job summary

Stefanini Group in Memphis is seeking a Greenhouse Technician to support greenhouse and headhouse operations on site at Memphis, TN. This 12-month assignment will involve sampling, plant care, and assisting in maintaining optimal growth conditions for engineered cotton seedlings.

You will work with a team in a hot environment, stand for long periods, and report to the supervisor. HS diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred; prior greenhouse/ horticulture experience is beneficial.

• Entry level experience in greenhouse, landscaping, horticulture, gardening.

• Planting engineered cotton seeds and maintaining suitable conditions for proper growth.
• Preparing buffer solution to extract protein from cotton leaf.
• Assisting in plant selection, transplanting, plant placement, and plant care.
• Candidates must work very well with others, pay attention to detail, and be able to stand for long periods of time.

Job Requirements

• Greenhouse work will include, but not be limited to: water monitoring, cleaning, hanging harvest bags and harvesting, fertilizing, pruning, crossing, re-clipping and stringing plants, cleaning and trashing.
• The environment can be very hot. Candidates must pay attention to detail and be able to stand for long periods of time. You will be working in a team setting but also independently.
