Gotham Greens is seeking a Green House Lead to guide Production Assistants in greenhouse operations. This role involves overseeing seeding, transplanting, and daily water and walk-through activities, while maintaining GFSI records and food safety procedures.

Weekend support and supervision coverage are required, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily seeding and ensure seeding and watering are completed on schedule.
• Direct transplanting and seeding activities according to schedule.
• Assist with daily AM walk-throughs, water meter readings, and stock tank levels.
• Ensure efficient workflow and assist with fertilizer and acid mixing duties.
• Train new employees and maintain GFSI logs and records.
• Provide weekend support for walkthroughs and other tasks as needed.
• Supervise and enforce food safety procedures (GAP & GMP).
• Cover GH Supervisor when off or on vacation.

THE ROLEThe role of the Green House Lead is designated to give day to day support and direction to the Production Assistants in the operation of the greenhouse. The GH Lead reports directly to the GH Supervisor.Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry a plus but not required.
