Texas A&M University-Commerce is seeking a Federal Work Study Student Worker in the CASNR Horticulture program. The role involves assisting with greenhouse production, landscape maintenance and installation under the supervision of the Horticulture Professor.

The position requires outdoor work in hot or cold conditions and adherence to safety guidelines. The student will learn greenhouse production, landscape maintenance and installation techniques and must be eligible for Work Study.

Qualifications

• Must be a student at Texas A&M University – Commerce.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in hot or cold and dusty or wet conditions.
• Must be eligible for Work Study.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks related to greenhouse plant growth and maintenance (planting, watering, weeding, cleaning).
• Complete tasks related to landscape maintenance (mowing, pruning, watering, cleaning).
• Assist with installation of new plantings (bed prep, planting, mulching, watering).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Complete trainings as required by the Texas A&M University System, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
