Job summary

Northwest Plant Co LLC in Ferndale, WA is seeking a Greenhouse Grower and Systems Manager to oversee crop production and greenhouse systems that support plant health, efficiency, and consistency. You will manage irrigation, climate control, fertigation, and other production systems, while leading hands-on growing operations and training staff.

This full-time role requires hands-on attitude, strong recordkeeping, and collaboration with maintenance and leadership to improve reliability and crop

Qualifications

• Experience in greenhouse growing or horticulture.
• Strong knowledge of plant nutrition, irrigation, and environmental controls.
• Familiarity with greenhouse automation and monitoring systems.
• Degree or certification in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily greenhouse crop production from transplant to harvest.
• Monitor plant health, growth rates, and crop quality.
• Adjust irrigation, fertigation, ventilation, heating, cooling, and shading systems.
• Maintain optimal environmental conditions for crop performance.
• Track crop data, system performance, and production records.
• Train staff on growing practices and system use as needed.
• Provide backup coverage to Field grower and crew supervisor.
• Troubleshoot equipment, sensors, and automation systems.
• Work with maintenance and leadership teams to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure sanitation and compliance with standard operating procedures.
