Greenhouse & Garden/Grounds Assistant

Position Overview – Temporary position in the PSO-State Botanic Garden of Georgia. Responsible for greenhouse and nursery maintenance, including planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing, propagation, cleaning, and sanitation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing, and propagating plants in three production greenhouses and outdoor nursery
• Cleaning pots and sanitizing floors and benches to maintain a productive environment
• Assist the Greenhouse Manager with day‑to‑day operations
• Drive as needed to perform job duties

Physical Demands – Work outside during adverse weather, lift and move potted plants, perform strenuous activity.

Qualifications

• Greenhouse and maintenance experience
• Basic knowledge of plant propagation (seed sowing, seed collection, asexual propagation)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for work
• Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks
